Does your akregator executable link to KF5Crash (pulled in via one of its dependencies)? I have --as-needed in LDFLAGS which strips way linking to KF5Crash if it isn't actually used. This has already been discussed here: https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-frameworks-devel/2015-November/028630.html
Furthermore, it's what the API docs say ("Call this in your main() to ensure that the crash handler is always launched.") and it seems to be needed for quite a number of other projects.
