I think this has little to do with KOrganizer. The work that was done
on recurrences was on kdepim and kdepimlibs repositories. Both of
these have branches called recurrences which are already merged on
master but just looking at the commits in these branches should give
you an idea of what was done and how is that failing to address your
case. See eg.
