H all,

Sorry for disappearing. I had to put this project a bit on the backburner, not
giving it nearly the time I'd like.

My progress :
First off, thanks a lot for the links, it helped a lot.
Based on the personas, I tried imagining usecases each would have, and then
created a few testing scenarios.
Right now, I'm in the middle of doing cognitive walkthroughs of all these
scenarios.
Unfortunately, some aren't testable on real users, due to bugs.
Those that are however, I don't think I'll manage to get users to test (and
find time...)

My next steps are to compile the bugs I found and report them, and, based on
the cognitive walkthrough of the initial wizard, I'd like to try and create a
mockup of a better one.

I'm not big on notes in electronic form, so everythig is scattered on about 10
papers which I'll be going through it and making some sort of report over the
next two weeks.

Unfortunately, due to my spending most of my testing time in the account
creation wizard (and related setup), I haven't been able to focus so much on
the signing/encryption part. I hope to continue in my free time after the
semester is over.

RFC : Details of the new wizard
In its current form, the wizard sets up akonadi resources, and that is it.
It's up to the user to then set up his identity and encryption settings. I'd
like to fix that.
Another missing part is basic server configuration (URL + port + protocol).
I'd like to do something like thunderbird does.
Basically the wizard only asks for the name and the email, and then does its
magic, leaving kmail in an unready state. I personnaly don't think that the
wizard is worth fixing in its current form, that's why I'd like to propose a
new one.

One thing I'm not too sure about is how the wizard would work alongside
KAccounts. Maybe base it on KAccounts?

Eagerly awaiting your comments.

Thanks all,

Martin.

PS : during this I had the opportunity to really discover kmail, and boy, what
a beast... A really awesome piece of software.
