Actually, I think there is a problem here.  More and more developers
appear to be using "bouncers" which enable them to read backscroll or
keep logs of conversations when they are not actually able to be
involved in a channel.  The problem arises because the channel
population list shows them as present.  It used to be that if you
needed information from specific developers (or could guess which
developers may have the needed information) you could scan the list -
that has been lost.

No-one's fault, I guess, just conflicting needs and no current
solution to that.
