Can I also ask that when you feel the time ready for this push, you
also publicise your recommendations with regard to those of us that
have tried to use KMail2 in the past and run into problems that made
it unusable?

Considering your last paragraph quoted here, I'm wondering whether
there is some way to safely guarantee that we don't carry forward any
"old" problems, which I suspect has been the root of many of the
unpleasant surprises that are often reported.  I, for instance, have
left then come back and tried again, several times, and I would expect
that many of us who loved KMail in the past have done the same thing.
 I've seen mention of the "cleaner" tool soon to be included - is that
all that will be needed?

I'm working well enough without Kontact, but I have no doubts
whatsoever that if I could get Kontact working properly again I would
return to it.
