Thunderbird does this by having a separate "Account" called Blogs and
News Feeds, so that the feeds show quite separate from emails.  It
works well.

I haven't used Akregator 2, but while I liked Akregator 1, it did let
me down regularly, either by refusing to load the feeds or by
corrupting the feed address.  I frequently had to delete a feed and
reset it.  Consequently I'm more than ever convinced that two options
are better than one :-) even though I acknowledge time restraints.
