[Kde-pim] importing instead of migrating ...

Dear all,

because no one seem to care about issues arising from migration processes 
4.4.x to kde pim 4.6/4.7, I was wondering whether there is some information 
about a strategy of starting a new kde/kdepim profile from scratch and 
importing as many of the old information as possible.

Does that sound like the better approach to avoid issues? What would be the 
disadvantages?

I think at the moment the whole kdepim setup is quite a mess here after partly 
successful migrations and I'm note sure how to get to a nice and clean one but 
not loosing my data.
