there is no freeze of bug fixes. however, i think (1) is probably more 
accurate.

please feel free to create a feature branch in kde-workspace where you can 
start your work immediately and at your own pace. we can merge it in when it 
is ready. if you are simply going to end up waiting doing nothing for the 
feature freeze to be over, i'd rather see you get started today in a branch :)

i, too, would appreciate some input from the people working on akonadi on 
this. as we wish to continue integrating with akonadi, it requires 
communication from the akonadi team.
