I come to the same meaning.
The messages I have written were the result of trying to migrate much more data from kmail(1).
There, kmail-migrator ends *always* with a crash.

Now, I tryed with very little data (about 20 messages and two folders).
The kmail-migrator does not crash every times.
I began every time with a new account.
If I wait long enought (some 10 minutes ?) after logging, it works another manner as if
I start kmail-migrator only 30 seconds after looging on.

kmail2, after that, has the folders, but *not any* messages. Nor any error message.
