[Kde-pim] doc on building KOrganizer plugins ?

I'm looking for documentation on how to create a KOrganizer plugin and
how to access the various calendar entities from that plugin but haven't
been able to find much information.

For example, I would like to 

1. by clicking on a icon, be able to obtain the currently selected date
and event.  From this information, retrieve the associated events fields
for processing.
2. be able to perform unique validation on an event when it is created
or modified.

Any pointers to appropriate material would be greatly appreciated.
