[Kde-pim] KDE 4.7 + kmail1 (Kubunut) moves mails halfway

Hi,
I am new to this list an search for some advice.
Recently, I have upgraded my system to KDE 4.7, but left
Kmail at 1.13.6, as per Kubuntu packaging suggestions. However,
since then my email behaves strangely: Whenever I move an
email to a different folder, I get a bad command error from the
mail server (outlook + DIMAP).

I have reported the issue at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/827407

Inspecting the network traffic, it is obvious that the command
sent to the IMAP server is bogus: "APPEND 6", without any
attached message or ID. Furthermore, I cannot export the
message from Kmail (empty file), but can safe the attachements
and other parts of it. Checking my ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/dimap/*
I can see the message at the proper destination. It seems that the
sync back to the server is broken.

Now, my quesiton is: does it make sense to report this? Is kmail1
out of support? I have tried to migrate to kmail2, but that eventually
created several thousands of copies of messages coming into
my inbox. Quite likely hitting
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277363 but that was for the old
kmail.

So I have downgraded back to kmail1, being stuck with the move messages
issue. Recommendations?

Many thanks,
 Stephan
