[Kde-pim] Akonadi commits suicide?

Hi all,

The KDE PIM packaging for the latest Kubuntu is distinctly suboptimal. You
might have noticed. I (well, Kolab Systems) will be working with JR and the
Kubuntu team to help them have totally rockin' packages in the future.

Whie trying to un-fudge some of the damage caused to my PIM deployment when I
upgraded to Kubuntu 10.4 the Akonadi self-test started to fail because of
errors in my old log (and various other reasons *sigh*). What I saw were two
problems:

1. "The Akonadi server did report error during its previous startup into
/home/padams/.local/share/akonadi/akonadiserver.error.old"

I suggest this should be: "The Akonadi server reported errors during its
previous startup. The log can be found in...."

Please let me know where I should formally suggest such a change.

2. The logfile contained the following:
"Control process died, committing suicide"

What /actually/ happened here? Did the control process's wife run away with
the postman and take the pet dog with her?

I would love to investigate whatever problem this relates to, but the error
message gives me nothing to go on. Whilst amusing (yes, the error message
actually caused me to laugh out loud in the CPH airport lounge), this error is
less than meaningful to me.

Have a good weekend all,
Paul
