[Kde-pim] Usage for Groups in KAddressbook

Hi,

the new KAddressbook has "Contacts" and "Groups". 

"Groups" is currently translated as "Gruppe" in german, but we got a bugreport 
about this translation (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224149).

Would you please explain the usage of "Group"? Only for email distribution or 
are there other usages of a "Group" im kdepim applications?
