Ok, let's make it more clear: I object to this until the mixedmaildir and maildir resources are fixed so that:
1) they monitor file changes
2) the full sync is available and working in the toplevel folder context menu (I'm already working on it)

For 1) there is a quite hidden setting, avalilable from akonadiconsole to set the cache behavior so a folder is synced on access, but this is not enough, as you will see changes only when you enter the folder and if it is turned on, the whole resource is very slow on each folder access.
