In kdepim, I only track kdepim/kalarm, and I haven't seen any commit messages since the git conversion, so you're probably correct that only /trunk/KDE/kdepim still works. I don't know anything about the notification mechanism - are there any plans to fix it? It will soon be an issue for other modules than kdepim as well.
