[Kde-pim] Question on KMail Documentation

Hi,

the kmail configure.docbook says:

If <guilabel>Jump to Newest Message</guilabel> is selected then &kmail; will 
select the newest message by date.

and
If <guilabel>Jump to Oldest Message</guilabel> is selected then &kmail; will 
select the oldest message by date.

Does that mean Newest/Oldest Message independent of the status like 
Read/Unread?
