Most likely it's a problem with the order of initialization of the 
statics.

What should be done:
1.) Read http://smart2help.com/e-books/ticpp-2nd-ed-vol-
one/Chapter10.html#Heading317
2.) Use one of the two mentioned techniques to avoid the problems.
