Those are not combo boxes (http://doc.trolltech.com/4.5/qcombobox.html)
but tool buttons (http://doc.trolltech.com/4.5/qtoolbutton.html) AFAIK.

A combo box? At least, that's what Akregator and KMail use(d) in KDE
3.5. I'd like the status filter selection to be changed back to a combo
box. For one thing I could again change the status filter with the
mouse wheel which is not possible with the currently used tool buttons.
Moreover, having some text next to the tiny icon would make it easier
to select the correct filter.
