[Kde-pim] About Korganizer category selector

Hi,
Even if korganizer is a marvellous piece of software :-), I have to write a 
category selector widget rather specific for our internal needs. It allows 
user to select categories through a tree. This tree is stored in a flat file 
of the form:

Cat1
>Sub Cat1.1
>>Sub Cat1.1.1
>>Sub Cat1.1.2
Cat2
etc...

If someone is interested in this code, I will be happy to release it but my 
problem is to plug into Korganizer code without big changes.
In the best world, the user would be able to choose a category selector by 
agenda, but globally for the apps should be enough.

Is it possible to add a plugin mechanism at this level ? I may propose an API 
for this, but I prefer to ask if someone has done something similar.
