I just googled a bit, and I'm having a hard time deciding from where
to install Akonadi / kdepimlibs. My intention is to triage the latest
Kontact bugs. I assume then that I should be building Akonadi from
SVN. Would someone advise me differently? Would downloading from "svn
co svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/trunk/kdesupport/akonadi" be the
best way to do it?

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
