Which version of the mal conduit? Both Jason and myself remember that (a) it 
didn't compile with what was available on recent Linuxen (b) we didn't adjust 
it to any of the KPilot API changes that have happened. Not to mention the 
configure check for libmal was broken, too.

In any case, I'm compiling the branch again and again now to see if I can get 
it to work and to fix bug 140206 (3.5.6 doesn't compile) as well.
