I don't recall that decision being made.  I see from Comment #8 that
Holger was planning to ask me about it.  And I don't recall having such
a conversation.  But... maybe I just don't remember.

On 2006-12022 lueck changed the kitchensync Makefile.am with this comment:
"added missing messages targets to make kitchensync fully translatable
scripty will generate 120 new untranslated + 12 fuzzy messages tonight"

Current status: 
+ There are currently no plans to remove kitchensync for 3.5.6
+ kitchensync has already been removed for 4.0
+ I think the translators shouldn't spend any of their time
    translating kitchensync.

IMO:  suggest reverting the commit to kitchensync Makefile.am.
