Dear PIM folks,
The king is dead. Long live the king.
Today, Cornelius (mostly) and I (a little) went out hunting and killed two
websites with one stone. korganizer.kde.org and kmail.kde.org are dead. These
two websites were not maintained in 2005 or 2006, basically, and full of old
stuff. What we did:
1) throw away really old stuff
1a) the amusing old stuff goes into the "history" folder on pim.kde.org
2) update less old stuff
3) move the user portion of that into kontact.kde.org
4) move the developer portion into pim.kde.org
The pages on kmail.kde.org that ought to be reachable now redirect (with a
meta refresh, since there's no HTTP headers to be sent from there) to
kontact.kde.org/kmail/ . Stuff that is not moved to the new site because it's
too old or too useless still exists, linked only from the outside world
maybe. The korganizer pages do not redirect yet, but will soon.
This is one more step on the route to consolidate the information about the
KDE PIM project on pim.kde.org and the information about the *product* that
the project produces (ie. Kontact + other apps) on kontact.kde.org. As far as
step (2) goes, the KMail stuff is still quite outdated, and we'd really
appreciate updates for that content -- like what's new in KDE 3.5, for one
thing.
If you are linking to information about KDE PIM applications or the project,
please link to either pim.k.o or kontact.k.o, depending.
