Hi Reinhold ! Hi Everyone !

WCAP is the "Web Calenda Access Protocol" which is used by both Sun's and
Apple's calendar server.

I hope to provide to the community a good quality plugin for that protocol, so
any comment, critics and so on are welcome. (I hope that this will be true
for version 2)

Concerning server you can find the freely downloadable server software at
Sun's (SunONE Calendar Server):
http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=44ec9279

On another side, I'm looking forward to provide a public server access for
test purposes.

For we do not have an unlimited bandwidth, anonymous access is not granted.

Should you need one account, you would open a feature request PTR on
sourceforge :
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=add&group_id=185145&atid=912100 and use
the "test server access" category.

This is freely available, thus anyone willing to have a try in this list is
welcome. But we cannot commit to any delay, and we will treat requests as
they comes.

I'm currently working on this connector on my spare time, using my company's
kind resources.

But I'm certain that I can buy some time from my boss if this plugin shows
significant user interrest (and might bring a corporate effort to an already
existing GPL project)

Thus beta-testers are more than welcome ;) ;)

The next release to come up (1.0_rc2) will integrate (in addition to rc1
release):
(* == already done and basically tested) :
	Alerts(*),
	Categories(*),
	Attachments(*),
	Recurrent events & todos(*),
Synchronization with other calendars (ongoing but having some troubles)
Participants (ongoing, but analysis is done, no particular problem expected),
availability(todo still to think about, but should be quite easy to resolve),
extensive tests(todo, this is the main remaining task...).

The goal for version 1.0 is to have all those functionnalities working and
basically tested. Ideal goal for v2 is a plugin that can match industrial
quality standards within less than six months from now. And also a kcm module
that enables basic administration in that same timeframe.

Just for information, I'm currently using the CVS HEAD version on an everyday
basis without major problems. I'll release rc2, in a few days, which corrects
A LOT of basic bugs (like missing server path in Alpha, Beta and rc1)

I need to buy some time to update the sourceforge CVS, please be patient. It
will be done ASAP.... ;)

Cheers to all
