What's happening is that kpilot is trying to use DCOP to communicate with the 
daemon, but the daemon is hanging in some library waiting for the device to 
show up. This is one of the problems that vR has (partly) fixed in the PIM+ 
branch, where the daemon is threaded to avoid this kind of hang.
