[Kde-pim] Kpilot problems on Kubuntu Edgy

Dear all -

I have recently upgraded to the Edgy release of Kubuntu. I think this is a
pretty popular distro, so I am imagining that quite a few people have done
the same...so I'm sending this mail to see if anyone can help. Here
goes...

I an running Kubuntu Edgy. This has the newer kernel release which solves
most of the device problems with Palms (problem getting/release USB
ports).

Sure enough, my Zire 72 connects fine. So far so good.

Now the problem: PC records do not get sent to the Palm. Furthemore, new
records on the Palm get sync'ed to the PC, but then disappear from the
Palm.

So - what I end up with is a very complete and accurate Kontact, but a
completely empty Palm. A Palm without TODO, Calendar or Contacts means
that I have a pretty bulky MP3 player.

I have tried hard-resets. No luck. I have tried wiping my Kontact data and
reimporting. KPilot sees that there are changes, but only the built-in
records on the Palm (Palm Tech Support etc). All my data remains
unsync'ed.

File installs are OK. So I am guessing that the general conduit framework
is okay. It looks more like problems directly with KPilot-Kontact
integration.

I have searched a little and I see that other people are having similar
problems, but no-one has yet solved this. Any suggestions? I thought of
installing the codebase from the codeyard repository, but I wanted to see
if anyone had already done this before spending time on this...

many thanks to you all for any help.

regards,
paul.
