See bug 30135: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30135

Btw. I recently also switched from nvidia driver to nouveau, the biggest
difference is that Xorg now consumes less than 40Mbyte of resident memory,
where it before consumed more than 240Mbyte (increasing over time). Also every
single KDE application individually also consumed a lot more memory with the
nvidia driver, plasma-desktop: 200Mbyte with nvidia driver, 21Mbyte with
nouveau.
