  It is possible to run slaves in valgrind.  You need to set 
KDE_SLAVE_VALGRIND and KDE_SLAVE_VALGRIND_SKIN environment variables, similar 
to the way the KDE_SLAVE_DEBUG_WAIT variable works.  See 
kdebase/kioslave/DEBUG.howto

   You could use this to track memory leaks or usage.
