Would it help if it did know that? For http I have made "mget" which (although
not used at the moment) allows to tell the slave to fetch multiple files and
which leaves it to the slave to fetch them in an order most convenient for
the slave.
I could imagine that that could be a real help here, because that would
potentially allow the slave to fetch the files in the order in which they are
in the archive and extract them with a single decompression pass without
storing the decompressed archive.
