Menus: unnecessary repaints?!

I disabled all GUI effects, and I can still see the flickering. Right now I'm 
compiling kdebase, so the CPU is heavily used, but with GUI effects on, and 
all the effects disabled except the Menu tear-off handles it was visible even 
when I was not compiling anything.
BTW, I'm using KDE & QT CVS HEAD, Keramik/II.
