great lauri!
it works, there is not any more this message again:
"no modules loaded for 'kde' service"
i put this (your) recomendation in /etc/pam.conf:

>kde auth sufficient pam_skey.so
>kde auth requisite pam_cleartext_pass_ok.so
>kde auth required pam_unix.so try_first=
>_pass

when OS call ttyv8 "/usr/local/bin/kdm -nodaemon" xterm on secure from
from /etc/ttys file on console :0 (F1) apears:
unknown command line option on 'ttyv8'
while on my grafical screen is kdm entry point (you know, fancy icons,
loggin and password fields, kind of session and all this).
check this, if i put off kdm like this:
ttyv8 "/usr/local/bin/kdm -nodaemon" xterm off secure
loging as usual (root) on console and next i run kdm there is no message
about any 'ttyv8'
when i try to logging logging screen disapear and start running startkde
shellscript as usual, then ksplash stop and complaint about dcopsever
i click OK and im go again to kdm logging,(on console :0) there is no
messages only same as before (only apears one time) about ttyv8.
on freebsd 4.4 sometimes when i type startx, i can go to KDE GUI and
COMPLAINTS exactly same way ( about DCOP server) i fixed this
puting on startkde shellscript this line:
rm -rf /tmp/ICE-unix/*
before the shellscript deletes XO-lock file (that prevents a restart, after
a server crash or a power failure)
never again /tmp/ICE-unix/* contents give me problems. until now when i want
to run KDM.
NOTE: i can't go to run kde desktop from kdm, (neither as root neither as
common user). neither way.
thanks
jehova
