Hello everyone!

I am Filzmaier Josef, a student seeking for a Google Summer of Code mentoring
organisation. I found myself quite happy with the KDE philosophy of doing
things and therefore using KDE for several years now on all my computers. I
found your proposal of intagrating an ubuntu-like new sound menu into the
plasma workspaces system tray very appealing because i don't think the current
one reflects the philosophy and functionality of the KDE standards very well.

While on the one hand i think the SoundMenu approach of ubuntu is quite good i
for myself am missing certain functionality

First, I am a user of veromix and am liking the ability to separately control
the volume of certain applications. I think there should be an option to show
volume controls for media players and applications.

The second thing i am not so sure about is the fact that you can not easily
change the output device of a certain application, like you can do with
pavucontrol or veromix. I think there should be a right-click option to change
the output device, like it is now with the kmix interface.

I just wanted to share my interests and thoughts for this project, before
applying to it on Monday.

Thank you for your attention and happy hacking!
