The problem is distributing ffmpeg.  Some distributions consider it to be too
much of a legal risk and won't do it.  So having a separate library that could
be built and installed independently of the rest of kdemultimedia would allow
distributions to avoid the legal risk while still allowing individual users or
third-party repositories to provide support separately.

Looking at the cmake output, it looks like Lame support is included without
needed to build against lame.  Something like that for ffmpeg might be
acceptable, if it is possible.
