Kubuntu Intrepid Ibex
KDE 4.1.96 (KDE 4.2 RC1)
Kmix 3.5
Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) High
Definition Audio Controller (rev 03)

I experienced the problem with being unable to control volume levels via the
keyboard shortcuts under KDE 4.1.x but this doesn't seem to be a problem under
the first release candidate for KDE 4.2. However, the remaining problem with
volume is that I cannot activate mute via the keyboard shortcuts.

It is possible to activate mute if the option is selected from within the kmix
system tray however.

I have verified that the shortcut has been assigned in the global shortcuts
menu for KDE.
