KMix / USB audio card unplugging / bug 127294

Hi,

is somebody here attending Akademy 2006, who could bring a hotpluggable USB "soundcard" (one that has a software controllable volume controls)?
The bug http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127294 is rather nasty, and it is such a great opportunity to fix it on Akademy. I guess it would take me about 2-3 hours to implement a clean fix.
