Standard DCOP interfaces

Hi!

There is currently a discussion in the xdg at lists.freedesktop.org list about 
D-BUS and standard application interfaces.

While we (as in developers on KDE projects) don't use D-BUS (yet), we have 
some experience in this area because of DCOP.

Coming to the point: is there a media player or audio player DCOP interface 
shared between KDE's player applications and if there isn't, would this be a 
good idea?

Something like KIMIface for IM applications?
