After a few years of my not working on it, I've released a new artsoss.  See 
http://www.derkarl.org/artsoss/ -- this is a complete rewrite, and works much 
better.

In short, this is a kernel driver that acts as a sound driver, but forwards 
the audio to aRts for mixing and playback.

Also, big big cheers go to the GNU project for making autoconf suck so that 
the tarball is >50 times larger!
