The KDE Multimedia part of the KDE project has not a good development... look at all the media applications that comes but no one brings features like mplayer or xine. 

The noatun player is not "multi-"media player and the most multimedia apps having a bad design - GUI redesign would be good. I don't know many people using KDE multimedia components and being happy with them...
