artsdsp and artsd daemon not working

I don't know your soundcard and wether the Alsa-support for it works
(maybe 
not in full-duplex)...

Alsa-support is needed in arts. Just add an --with-alsa to your
config-flags.

Okay, your aRts isn't running. It stops because it cannot access your 
soundcard the right way. Did you try it without full-duplex?
Your aRts isn't checking for Alsa so I suppose its compiled without
support 
for it...
