arts crashing

i played with the configuration to test a bug. i changed NOTHING. it's 
autodetect, full/duplex. my sound h/w is emu10k1 and now arts keeps crashing 
without having done anything at all in startup and displays those stupid 
crash dialogs... it's really boring. i'll send a BT if I can compile this 
code with deug info :(
