Hiya,

please have a look at http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44370
KNotify has a check like

if ( soundServerV2.audioDevice() == "null" )
  // abort, don't create playobject

This breaks when NAS is being used, as arts/flow/audioionas.cc hardcodes
"null" for the devicename. I have no idea whether the above check is correct
or incorrect (I didn't write that code), neither do I know where the
deviceName (in AudioIO IDL) or attribute (in SoundServerV2 IDL) property is
being used.

Is it sensible to not use "null" for NAS and instead use a dummy string "NAS"?
Or should the check in knotify simply be removed? Or anything else?

Thanks for any help,
Carsten Pfeiffer
