Bug#44811: Noatun halts on playback

Stop Noatun.
Start a console, and type the following in there:
 killall -9 artsd
 artsd -l0
Press the play button in noatun
Tell me the output artsd.

And make sure you ran the artsd that you just installed, in case there's two.
