We have seen this issue under several conditions like invalid email recipient 
or no network connection. See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=249993 and 
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=251917

Thanks for your feedback! We are doing our very best to improve every version
