Hello,

After some confusion and searching I also ended up on this bug report. In my
case it's on Arch Linux, DigiKam version 8.7.0. 
I opened the panorama tool and all but one of the required binaries were not
found, so I installed Hugin 2024.0.1 via pacman, clicked on one of the "find"
buttons and then cancelled to try and force a refresh, and all were detected
except for the last one, pto2mk. 
After some confusion and after reading this thread, I simply fully closed the
Panorama window and re-opened it, and hugin_executor was correctly detected.
Panorama generated fine after that :)
I guess it's just an old default if no version is found?
