"Could not expand clip" Error Message

SUMMARY
I am trying to copy one project over to another. Doing it via MLT was not
working so I added the project file itself (the .kdenlive) to the project bin.
Then I put it in the timeline. The video and audio show up as it should. When I
go to Timeline > Current Clip > Expand Clip, it errors and will not do anything
to the clip. I put this on Discuss first and was recommended to make a bug
report.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Take a project and save a duplicate copy.
2. Edit that duplicate
3. Go back to the original project and import the duplicate.kdenlive file to
the Project Bin
4. Add the duplicate.kdenlive to the Timeline
5. Select it on the Timeline than go up to Timeline > Current Clip > Expand
Clip

OBSERVED RESULT

A small error message that says "Could not expand clip".

EXPECTED RESULT

For the duplicate.kdenlive on the Timeline to expand and show the different
video and audio clips used in the duplicate

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
macOS: 15.5
KDE Plasma Version: N/A
KDE Frameworks Version: N/A
Qt Version: N/A

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Before I upgraded to the new version of kdenlive doing this would crash the
program, now it simply does nothing. In regards to the attached image, I don't
know why it's so scrunched up/has the top and bottom cut off. For as long as
I've used kdenlive in current and past versions, error messages have always
appeared that way.
