Kate Breeze Dark color theme incorrect display - Settings
SUMMARY
After being set to the Breeze Dark window color scheme and restarted, the color
scheme displays some UI elements incorrectly, presumably using their Light or
Default versions. These include:
- Tabs
- Toolbar/sidebar/statusbar labels (icons are white and clearly visible, but
text is black and hard to read)
- Startup page: buttons, Recent Documents and Projects/Saved Sessions (labels
and file/session list windows)
- Settings: sidebar, tabs, settings labels and inputs, buttons
By switching to another color scheme and then back to Breeze Dark, everything
displays correctly, but this does not persist after quitting Kate.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set Window Color Scheme to Breeze Dark
2. Quit Kate
3. Open Kate
OBSERVED RESULT
Breeze Dark displays some UI elements incorrectly after restarting Kate, making
them hard to read; Breeze Dark displays correctly after switching to and back
from another color scheme, but does not stay like this after restart
EXPECTED RESULT
Breeze Dark displays as normal even after restarting Kate
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Kate 24.11.70 DMG
macOS: 15.0.1
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Attached a screenshot of the Settings window as the issue is most visible
there, but tool/sidebars in the main editor window are equally hard to read
- Have digikam DMG installed as well, in Possible Duplicates saw an issue where
one KDE app file was potentially interfering with the color scheme/theme of
another: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438273
