I'm working on a MacOS ARM build of digiKam using Homebrew instead of Macports.
 I'll post updates here as my work progresses. 

Current Status: I have an almost clean build using v8.4.0 tag.  There's still
several issues I'm debugging to get a usable binary, but I believe most (of not
all) of the issues are due to resource or library pathing.  I'm using the most
recently released version to avoid introducing unstable code.  Once I have a
good arm64 package of v8.4.0, I'll grab the latest from Main and slowly
introduce my changes to keep the commits small.
