The behavior has already been reported, but is intentional. When you add a
single collection, all collections are scanned. For digiKam to work, the entire
collection must be scanned. It makes no sense to constantly interrupt digiKam
in the scanning process. With a slow network connection it may take days, but
before then you will not be able to work with digiKam and your images.
