The analysis part takes up less than 30% in your QDA solution? :)

First thing to check though would be whether Okular5/Linux displays remotely on XQuartz running in the OS X VM. XQuartz lacks support for remote GLX both in the client and the server, so any rendering engine that doesn't have a fallback to some kind of rastering won't work (and that'd have nothing to do with the VM).
