Not any other suggestion than trying various applications that use Qt for rendering, for instance the ones in Qt's demo and example applications.
Okular also has a few settings related to rendering that you might experiment with.

And of course you can test different GPU memory and acceleration settings in VirtualBox.

I frankly have no idea how well OS X runs in VB and other virtualisation solutions under Linux (nor exactly what Apple's EULA says about that).
